Strength is in the crooked
It is said that the guild is for all outcasts. Everyone, who feels they don’t belong, that they don’t have anywhere to call home, or anyone who would accept them. Ruojat welcomes all of these castaways.
Ruojat comes together at megaliths found on every continent: Roenden, Warrenfall and Thedale. The megaliths are many things to the members: A place where magic is told to dwell, and a place to tie agreements.
Every member is a free spirit, and there’s not much required of them. There are some responsibilities, though, in order for one to get to enjoy all the benefits of the guild; the safety, acceptance and trust. These responsibilities are:
Protect the holy
Do not let anyone desecrate or destroy the megaliths or their surroundings. Drive away those who do not belong, and those who are not interested in joining the guild. Every Ruoja is obliged to guard these humble locations with their own life.
Come when summoned by a Guild member
If someone of your guild is in need, you must answer the call and help them with their problem. Only exception is if the task puts you to an imminent and impetuous risk of death. Ruojat is a family, and family comes first, even if you know the member or not.
History
Stories of the megaliths have been spreading around for god knows how long, almost as long as there have been tales of the protectors of these megaliths, and they’re full of legends and mystery. The stories are thought to be as dusty and mossy as the stones themselves, but when one of the megaliths was recently discovered again in Roenden, the legends became true.
After the discovery of the Roenden megalith, the search for other holy locations has begun. The magical standing stones were soon found in Warrenfall, and the latest one was discovered in Thedale. It’s been a decade since the discoveries, but Ruojat has been assembling only for the past year.
Members
Ruojat does not have a particular leader, but those who have proven their loyalty and stamina, do get everyone’s appreciation, snd they are more likely to be listened to in the collective decision-making.
Ruojat may not know each other if they don’t travel between continents to meet one another. That doesn’t stop them for helping each other, though, as every member can be recognized by an arch-type salute that only a member would know.
Ruojat are like a family where everyone is looked after despite if they’re known or not. All members are free to act and do things the way they like, and Ruojat is not responsible or interested in their members' lack of honor. Ruojat offers their members a safety net and a home for everyone who feels like they have nowhere else to go.
